Carol Service

There has been an incredible buzz around school this week as the whole school took to the stage in some form or another! With stage lighting and a sprinkle of glitter, KS2 Red Kites and Owls shared their Carol Service on Tuesday and Wednesday and we could not be more proud of them. The children sang so beautifully and read their lines confidently. I have been so impressed at how well the children have supported each other - helping to practice, encourage and set brilliant examples and spread the festive cheer! It's been really fun preparing for this altogether and definitely makes all the business totally worth while!

This week the children have evaluated, edited, published, proof read, and illustrated their chapters! The progress shown in writing this term is amazing. The children have shown a great understanding of how choice of language and how using a range of sentence structures can add depth to a piece of writing for their audience. Thank you to those Parents/Carers who have been in to read and hear these chapters. We will have them on display outside Red Kites class so please do pop in and have a read!

The children have shown great interest in our Ancient Greece topic this term and their writing reflects their knowledge and vocabulary.

COMPASSION

It has been really special to see children in Red Kites show such kindness and compassion to those around them - whether it is encouragement, checking in with others, helping staff, offering to help or even being a mini teacher, I have seen bucketfuls of it this week!
