End of week 4

CHICKS!

This morning we had 2 fluffy visitors to Red Kites Class - We met Ziggy and Hermes and learnt a little bit about what it is like to care for chicks. 

Recommended Reads

This week we have had three recommended reads. The children shared great summaries of their books which sound full of adventure! Who's going to put this on their Christmas list?

Multiplication

Red Kites have been learning how to multiply through long multiplication this week, they have worked really hard and are becoming more confident using this method. Fluent recall of times tables will really help confidence. Keep practising!

Writing

Next week we will be writing our very own 'adventure of Odysseus'. This week we have been practising writing in first person and using a range of sentence structures to add detail and convey feeling. 

Throughout the week we have observed some great compassion shown to other children across the school. In collective worship on Monday, Mrs Stephenson asked us to pause and think about how it feels to show compassion to someone else. How did it feel?
