Term 4- The final week!

Preparing for Easter!

We have reached the final week of Term 4 and Easter is almost upon us.

This week the sunshine has most certainly appeared and in Robins we have been busy preparing for Easter.

On Monday we practiced our lines ready for our Easter Church Service and we also learnt what an Easter garden is. We then went on to make one ourselves. We split into groups with each group making a different stage of the Easter garden.

We are very proud of the result!

Step 1- Putting in the soil and creating the tomb.....

Step 2- Covering the tomb with moss and decorating with flowers

Step 3- Add decorative stones and create 3 crosses

Our Easter garden is now in the school foyer for everyone to enjoy!

Our Easter garden activity even encouraged some of our Robins to create their own Easter garden using the junk modelling during choosing time, what a wonderful creation!

Our creativity continued this week during our choosing time with a little bit of Easter egg inspired colouring.....

We even had an Easter Dragon join us during choosing time!

The excitement of the big clean up!

As the sun continued to shine, our Robins came rushing in wanting to clean up our playgrounds and they were most certainly serious about it!

"I'll have the picker"

"I'll have the bin"

I have never seen anyone quite so excited to be using litter picking equipment!

Although I'm not sure it beats the excitement we had over the new blue and yellow recycling bins that arrived in Robins this week. They are definitely worth a mention because we know for sure most of you have heard about them!

Due to our Easter rehearsals this week our PE lesson was a little shorter and we needed to adapt.  With the weather being so glorious, we wanted to take full advantage so headed outside for some physical activity and exercise.

On Wednesday, we headed up to Chaddleworth for our Easter Service in St. Andrew's Church.

The service was very well attended, thank you to everyone who joined us and thank you for all the feedback we received, we couldn't agree more, the children said their lines clearly and confidently.

They thoroughly enjoyed the whole service.

As we eased ourselves towards the end of the week and the end of term there was a 'mystery' that we were struggling to solve. We did not know who the Mystery Reader could be on Thursday - we had been given clues all week but we just could not work it out. We were informed it was NOT a Mummy, NOT a Daddy, NOT a Grandma, NOT a Grampa NOT an Auntie or Uncle and NOT a brother or sister...." I think I have guessed it....it's a princess!" So when Mrs Bell sent us the messdage over the Walkie Talkie that the Myster Reader had arrived our excitement was at an all time high and guess who it was.....it was Denise from pre school

(who may now be known as Princess Denise)

Friday morning got off to a fairly calm start and we started to wind down but the calmness did not last long as the Easter Bunny arrived and we all headed outside to find a peg to swap for an egg - fabulous chaos errupted!

Huge thanks to the PTFA for another great event!

We wish you all a very Happy Easter - enjoy the break, enjoy the weather and have a very well deserved rest - it has been a busy term.

We return on Wednesday 23rd April - St. George's day.
