We hope that you all had a lovely half term. What a busy week it has been! The children have very much enjoyed being scientists and engineers this week. To link with our work on the seasons and appropriate clothing, the children carried out an investigation to see which gloves would be best for playing outdoors in the winter, especially if it is wet or there is snow. The children saw and felt what happened to different sorts of gloves when they got wet. We all decided that the ski gloves would be the best for playing outdoors at this time of year as they were warm and waterproof - they kept our hands dry.

In design and technology this term, the children will be designing and building their own wheeled vehicles. This week the children investigated toy cars, wheels and axles. They had a go at putting two wheels onto an axle and seeing how best to secure the wheels onto the axle so that the wheels turned around.
