We can't believe how quickly the week has gone. As always, the children in Kingfishers have been very busy. In literacy the children have started writing their own versions of the story "The Three Little Wolves And The Big Bad Pig" by Eugene Trivizas. Ask your children which characters they are putting in their story.

In maths we have been looking at ordering numbers using the language of "greater than" and "less than". The children also enjoyed maths outside on Thursday. They were investigating part whole models. Year 1 had to collect 10 leaves and look at how they could share them between two parts. They recorded their findings on the playground. Year 2 had to collect 20 leaves and look at sharing their leaves between three parts. One of their parts always had 10 to help them fill their other parts with pairs that they knew made another 10. This meant that the three parts made twenty.

This week the children also had great fun with their golfing workshop. Thank you to Mrs Brown for organising this and thank you to Mr Emerson for helping the children to develop their golfing skills! The children learnt how to hold a golf club and aim when they were hitting the ball. Much fun was had by all!

Next week the children can look forward to using collage on their autumn pictures. If you are out and about this weekend, have a look at the different autumn colours around you.

Have a lovely weekend.
