Autumn 1 Week 3

Another week has flown by and this week we have been becoming increasingly more confident when using Purple Mash, our online computing learning program, which we now all have our logins for! These logins can be found in your child's reading records so why not have a go at logging in at home and explore some of the wide range of activities to develop your child's early computing skills. 

This week we practiced logging on again and then were set our very first 'To do' activity, which involved using the painting program. Kingfishers simply loved exploring the different vibrant colours on the screen and creating their very own digital artwork. Just look at some of their creations....

When it came to our Free write this week, children delighted in creating imaginative character descriptions. A magical cat offered endless possibilities for their creativity!

They imagined eyes that changed colour with its mood or a tail tipped with rainbow stardust. Perhaps this cat can speak in riddles, vanish into thin air, or summon tiny glowing fish to swim through the air around it. As they wrote, Kingishers explored not only the cat’s appearance but also its personality—mischievous yet wise, playful yet mysterious—crafting a vivid portrait that felt alive on the page and inviting readers into a world where the ordinary rules no longer applied...

In Science we continued to explore everyday materials and this week explored objects that are made from more than 1 material. Focusing on a car, we explored the different materials that could be found both inside and outside, we these just a few that we focused on today.....

• rubber
• fabric

• glass

Kingfishers then explored why these materials are used...

"The windows are made out of glass because it is transparent"

"The seats are made out of fabric because it is soft"

This week we have collected quite the pile of cardigans and jumpers....

Some we have managed to pair up with their owner but unfortunately quite a few aren't labelled so please do check at home if you are missing a jumper or a cardigan and if you are then check on Monday if we have it in class. All unclaimed clothing will be put in lost properly at the end of the day on Monday.

Can we please remind parents to clearly label all personal items including water bottles and clothing, especially jumpers and cardigans as it makes it a lot easier to help the children to find their items.
