What an amazing Christmassy week!
We have been extremely busy this week with final rehearsals and Carol Concert performances but we have managed some learning too. In English we have planned and written our portal stories. The children worked hard to use the correct punctuation, write multi-clause sentences and make them interesting with adverbials, pre-modifiers, post modifiers, prepositions and similes. They are amazing! In Maths we started our multiplication and division unit. Using counters, pictures and cubes, we were able to explore grouping, sharing and arrays.
In Geography, we looked at grid references on maps. We talked about what they were for and then used them to crack a code to find a mystery place on a map. In science we used research to find out how rocks are formed. We drew the rock cycle including the igneous rock formation, sedimentary formation and metamorphic formation. Music was all about Jingle Bells – the children were able to play it on the piano.
And finally – it was panto today!! Thank you to all the parents who came along to help. The children loved it and there was plenty of singing and screaming throughout.
Have a lovely weekend!
