We have worked so hard this term and now the end is in sight!

Firstly this week, thank you and well done to the children who had the courage to stand in front of the whole school in church and share our teaspoon prayer. You were amazing.

In our learning we are building up to write our own non-chronological report about a fictional creature. On Wednesday we used co-ordinating conjunctions and compound subjects to improve an introduction and then on Thursday we focused on structuring paragraphs using TIDE. Today we introduced using adverbials to improve and develop verbs. The children are working so hard and I can’t wait to start writing our own reports! Maths was all about Roman numerals this week. The children had great fun challenging me with numbers to see if I knew what they were. I wonder can you write 999 in Roman numerals?

The sand has arrived so we can create our cave walls ready for our Stone Age scenes. Everyone earned a community leaf for their effort and team work when tidying up all the paint and sand. In History, we have moved into the Iron Age and had lots of discussions about why this happened. We also found out why they kept using iron to make their tools and weapons. Luckily, it was sunny Thursday afternoon so we went outside and became the digestive system. The children were very good at explaining what was happening at each stage. We then applied our learning in the classroom. In RE we continued our learning about communion. We had lots of discussions about why Christians take part in it and how other faiths do too.

Please continue to support your child to learn their spellings and don’t forget to ask them their spelling score this week.

Have a great weekend everyone!
