20th June

This week has been hot!
Firstly, I would like to say a well done for Tuesday. The Owls were amazing and very dramatic in their performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I was so proud. Thank you to all the parents who came and supported. A message from Lottie: ‘I just wanted to say a huge congratulations to all of you who took part in this year’s showcase on Tuesday evening! What a fantastic show it was! Full of energy, smiles, and so much joy. You have shown such dedication over the past weeks, and seeing you bring your work to the stage was truly special. I hope you had a brilliant time performing. You should feel incredibly proud of yourselves!’
In class, we have been learning to tell the time. Some of us found this tricky so please practice with your children at home. In English, we planned out our rags to riches stories in detail and then wrote them.
History was all about people in Ancient Egyptian times – how important they were and what role they played. We will start our 3D art project next week – please bring in any tubes (like pringles tubes) and newspaper. In Science, our focus was pollination and how flowers pollinate. The children designed their own flowers and discussed whether it used wind or animal pollination.
Today, the year fours went to John O’Gaunt and had an amazing time. They were great ambassadors for the school and Mrs O was very impressed with their behaviour. While they were out, the year 3’s completed a project on plastic pollution. They worked with the year 6’s to create a scene, make plastic turtles and research the topic to write informative posters. It’s not quite finished but they worked very well together to combine all their ideas.
Have a great weekend. Try and stay cool.
