Another great week!

We have started our portal story writing unit. First we had to draw a story map to represent the events that happened and today we explored using power of 3 sentences to describe. We used a repetitive poem to support us creating 3 descriptions in one sentence.

Next week we will try writing similes, prepositions and the structure of a portal story.

In Maths, we were able to apply our skills of using the column method to add and subtract to solve word problems. It was quite tricky and we had to be careful to use the correct operation.

Science was all about rocks this week! We spoke about what rocks are and where they come from. We were lucky enough to handle some and look at them closely too. Then we put them into different groups according to their appearance. In geography we looked at map symbols and thought about what they represented. Eventually we are going to create our own map.

In our house meetings, everyone came together to paint a Christmas decoration using acrylic paint. This meant that today we could walk to the village hall and place them on the tree outside.

Next week we are going to be rehearsing our carol concert ready to perform to you.
