16th October
This week has gone so quickly! Thank you to all the parents who came to meet with me at some point this week.
In English this week, we were focusing on writing radio broadcast scripts. We looked at the features, practised our speech punctuation and drafted a radio broadcast for during the Blitz. On Monday, we will present our final draft after some checking and editing. In History, we found out about VE day and the end of the war. Using our knowledge, we recorded a radio broadcast announcing the end of the war. We used recorders, drums and xylophones to create music and sound effects. In Maths, we explored prime numbers, square numbers and factors. PSHE was all about anti-social behaviour linked to consequences, rights and responsibilities. In Science, we compared the amphibian and insect life cycles – we had lots of discussions about how they are different and similar. In RE, we continued to think about achieving moksha and researching how Hindu stories teach us about achieving it. For PE, we practised our passing in football and used the apparatus in gymnastics. In Computing, we used 2Investigate to create our own databases by creating fields and filling in records.
Have a great weekend.
