2nd October
This week in English we have explored diary entries. Our focuses were passive voice, semi-colons and sentence structures. The children produced some amazing writing. In Maths, we were subtracting and solving word problems with the use of bar models. In RE, our learning was all about karma: we thought about good karma and bad karma. We also explored what Hindus believe about samsara (the continuous, repeating cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth). Science was all about amphibians and their life cycle. For History, we went back in time and explored how life changed during World War II on the home front for civilians: thinking about children, women and rationing. In gymnastics, the children worked together in 3s to create sequences. For Music, we were introduced to the note 'A' and we composed short bars using 'B' and 'A'. In art this week, we've created our own Still Life in the style of Georgia O'Keeffe. We all chose the composition we liked and then sketched out the position of the fruit or vegetables before adding colour with pastel. Can you tell what our subjects were?
Have a great weekend.
