What a busy week we’ve had!!

We have covered line graphs and pie charts in maths, begun our new WWII text in English and looked at some of Anne Frank’s diary entries.

On Friday, the Year 5s had the opportunity to participate in the Primary Project day at John O’Gaunt secondary school in Hungerford, where we had taster sessions of Maths, PE, Drama, English and DT. We did rock climbing, cracked a code in maths and designed and tested a boat made of junk! The Year 5s particularly liked the fast-paced drama lesson which had lots of games, and of course, the canteen! Thank you to the staff at JoG for a fantastic day.

The Year 6s paired up with the Year 3s for a science day with Mrs Chapman, where they looked at plastic pollution and the impacts it has on the environment. Look out for our amazing display coming soon!

It has been so hot this week, we’ve really enjoyed being able to use the back field and spend some time in the shade. Mrs Higgins even shared the Robins’ paddling pools with us at lunch on Friday. While the hot weather continues, please can we remember to bring in a hat and water bottle to keep us protected and hydrated during the day. If possible, apply sun cream before school or bring it in to put on at lunch. Can we also remind everyone that aerosol sprays are not permitted at school. If the children wish to bring in deodorant, please can this be in roll-on or stick form only. Thank you.
