SCIENCE WEEK!
Red Kites have loved Science Week. This years focus has been adapt and change which has tied in brilliantly with our topic this term: evolution and adaptation. The children have been learning about how animals have adapted to their surroundings over time - we have written some excellent poetry this week based on our model text Extraordinary Owl. In Science, the children experiemented how beaks adapted based on different sized seeds. They have also learnt about inheritance and characteristics passed to offspring.
We had a great time in our house meetings this week where we investigated how good certain biscuits were for dunking! Red Kites demonstrated good knowledge and were helpful to the adults and younger children. Well done!
FIRE DEPARTMENT!
This week Red Kites were lucky to have been visited by the First and Rescue Department. The children learnt about hazards in the home, what to do in an emergency situation and talked about the importance of having an emergency plan in the home. Don't forget to test your alarms at home!
HALF TERM
Its been a short term but oh how we have packed it in. We are unbelievably proud of all that Red Kites have achieved this term. We are so looking forward to our summer production this year. The cast have been allocated so it's time to learn our lines! Let's work together to raise funds for our costumes, starting with our cake sale fundraiser on Weds 4th June at the end of the school day.
