4th Oct

The children have coped admirably this week as they settle back into school routines and recover from their busy week last week. We have been working hard on place value including the powers of 10 and partitioning numbers to 10 million. In reading, the children have been improving their reading fluency by reading aloud their class book - Floodland. Please continue to support your child reading aloud at home everyday. We expect children to read aloud everyday to a person at home and for that person to sign to confirm that they have read aloud to them.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in on Monday morning for our worship where we will share all of our experiences from our week of adventure. The children have taken their reflections home to practice, please help them to read to the audience with confidence.
PE brought smiles, laughter and cheering to our Friday afternoon as the children took part in games developing their skills and team work. Well done Red Kites.
We are proud to have high expectations regarding our school uniform and presentation at school, please support us in remaining consistent. We ask that children come to school wearing the correct full school uniform each day and that they were the correct PE kit for their lessons. It is important that we teach our children this now to prepare them for secondary school and their futures.
Many community leaves have been handed out this week for a range of reasons including, kindness when someone was hurt, helping an adult to pick something up after dropping something, focussing and setting an example for the rest of the class. Well done. Our pom pom jar is also very nearly full from the children making positive choices. It is a pleasure to see!
Homework books and spellings were handed out on Monday this week. Please support your child to meet the expectation of handing completed homework tasks in on a Monday and being prepared to feel confident with their spellings.
I am so looking forward to catching up with you at parents evening.
Wishing you a fun weekend,
Take care,
Red Kites Team
