In school activity week

Our in school activity week has given opportunity for Red Kites to enjoy a mix of sporting activities and a local history project.

Our MNR coaches, Mr H and Mr Richardson, have lead us through some of the sports that are associated with the Invictus Games.

Taking part in the games are International wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel. Which will be taking place in February 2025 - Vancouver, following this The Invictus Games will also be in England in 2027!

Monday 23rd September

Mr. H taught us the skills needed for volleyball and sitting volleyball!

Mrs. Chrimes then introduced the local history project, focusing on King Alfred the great.

Non-fiction texts were devoured to fact find and find out about the famous name.

Anglo-Saxon lay replica coins were the afternoon challenge!

 

Tuesday 24th September

A history focus day with Mrs Chrimes.

The activities began with baking!

King Alfred was known for burning the cakes (or bread), but there were no burnt cakes for us today!

Tasty scones and flat bread were successfully baked and enjoyed.

 

 

Wednesday 25th September

Mr. Richardson was our sports coach today to build on our rugby knowledge and skills and transfer what we could do to wheelchair rugby activities too!

Thursday 26th September 

Basketball and wheelchair basketball this morning!

Mr. H helped us to develop our skills in passing, catching and moving around the basketball court.
