This week Red Kites have been ramping up rehearsals for our end of year play. We are so excited to perform for you and are looking forward to practising on the stage next week. Our performance dates will be the 15th (afternoon) and 16th (evening) of July so please save the dates!
We had a lovely Forest School session with Mhairi on Monday where we tried our hand at some nature art. Lots of people made things to take home – including stick fairies, rustic bows and arrows and even some whittled mushrooms!
We have also learned about water safety which is a particular priority in the summer when everyone is wanting to cool down in the water due to the hot weather.
We are excited to welcome local author Geraldine McCaughrean to school next Wednesday to talk to us about her book Under A Fire-Red Sky, which we are studying as part of our WWII topic. If you’d like to purchase a book to be signed, the links are below.

Finally – don’t forget to get your 1940’s outfit ready for our Evacuation Day next Friday! We’ll be dressing up in period costumes and experiencing what it might have been like for children evacuated from a big city to live in the countryside during WWII – including rationing and helping the war effort by digging for victory!
Have a lovely weekend!
