TERM 2 WEEK 5
Where do we begin this week - we had such a busy week.
First, lets start with the classroom environment. As we entered the classroom on Monday morning it was very clear to see that Santa's elves had been in over the weekend and had transformed the classroom - there we twinkling lights, tinsel, advent calendars, Nativity scenes, Christmas books, a Christmas tree and even a fireplace scene - yes Christmas has arrived.
We also hopped back to revisit some learning from last week - St. Andrew's Day. Thank you for your the donations of silver coins. Each class placed their coins on the saltire and we learnt that all the monies raised will go to support children at St. Ormand Street Children's Hospital.
On Wednesday in whole school Worship, we learnt about the symbolic meaning of the parts that make up a Christingle. Rev. Mike and Rev. Matt led the worship and Rev. Matt even became a Christingle....of sorts. Next week each child will be making their own Christingle in their house meetings and next Sunday, 14th December at 10.30 in the Church in Brightwalton there will be a community Christingle service which you and your families will be more than welcome to attend - it really is a lovely service.
Without giving too much away, our Christmas craft are coming along nicely - I have only chosen two photos in order not to reveal the surprise.
Finally it was lovely seeing so many of you at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday.
Now, all you Innkeepers, Mary, Joseph, the Bright star and the wise man, please have plenty of rest as next week....it's showtime.
How exciting!!!!
