TERM 6 WEEK 6
We were back to feeling hot hot hot again this week!
Monday afternoon there was some relief as we had Forest School - it was much cooler in the shaded area of the trees.
This week we were searching for Robins, wool winding to make wands, making dens, mud pies, climbing trees, exploring the area and checking out the mud!
In Show and Tell this week we met Buttons and Frostie and learnt a lot about them.
And our Mystery Readers this week really surprised us - two people came and they gave us a choice of books - Oi Dog was the clear winner
The return of the hot weather meant only one thing. We would be outside as early as possible to avoid the hottest temperatures.
On Thursday Early Years took their maths outside. We went up on the field to see what shapes we could find. We found lots of 2D shapes within 3D shapes. The children then had a go at drawing their 2D shapes. Once they had drawn them, they turned their shapes into everyday objects. The triangles became slices of pizza, the squares became robots, there were so many lovely ideas!
To follow on from this, in Expressive Arts and Design, the children started to find out about sculpture. They discovered that sculpture is like a 3D shape. It is art that looks like something. The children had a go at building different sculptures using different materials. There was a snowman, a car, some creatures. Again, lots of creative ideas!
